Timeshare scams are nothing new in the news. Many people and companies are practicing this deceitful business since there are many people who fall for it anyways. The good news is the government is taking action against timeshare scams just recently Ormond Beach-based timeshare sales office was raided by the Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services’ investigators. The details of the investigation are not yet disclosed.

The Company has been warned by the regulators last March 2010 as they are found to be unregistered. They were even advised to stop their telemarketing arm. But the company still refused to heed the warning. But it is yet to be confirmed if this is related to the recent raid.

This case is just one of those many results of numerous deceitful timeshare resale companies around the world who are continues to trap timeshare owners with their devious business tactics. Some of these tactics include pressuring you to sign-up with them right away before you can even think thoroughly about the offer. They often give attractive deals and then tell you payments are required through credit cards. These sound really like a scam but desperate timeshare owners still fall for it thinking that it would end their problems.

So as not to be one of the victims, timeshare owners are advised to practice due diligence before signing up for any timeshare resale companies. It is best to make inquiry to the Better Business Bureau regarding the company. This is to prevent yourself from entering transactions with a company that has previous cases of scams.

Timeshare resale is not the only timeshare exit solution. You can seek help from companies who specializes in helping timeshare owners get out of their contracts. Just always be sure that the company you are dealing with is licensed and reputable.

Preventing timeshare scam is better than running after timeshare scammers. It is not only the responsibility of Authorities to detect timeshare scammers, timeshare owners must also be watchful to protect themselves from these scammers.
